This Privacy Policy explains how the BabyCanvas iPhone app (the "App") and this website handle your information. BabyCanvas lets you create AI portraits, Future Baby images, Look-Alike results, twin images and milestone portraits from photos you choose, and edit photos on your device. In short: BabyCanvas has no sign-up and does not ask for your name, email or phone number. Photos you choose for AI features are uploaded to our server and processed by AI models through Replicate. Your creations are stored on our server so they appear in your Gallery. We don't sell your data and we don't use it for advertising or tracking.
1. Information we collect
Photos you choose
When you use an AI feature, the photos you select (for example your baby's photo, or photos of mom and dad for Future Baby and Look-Alike) are uploaded to our server. We only receive the photos you pick; the App does not scan or upload your photo library. The App asks for access to your Photos so you can pick images and save results, and to the camera if you choose to take a photo.
Photos you edit in the built-in photo editor are processed on your device and are not uploaded for editing.
Your creations
The images generated for you, and the result of a Look-Alike analysis (percentages and a short text summary), are stored on our server together with the options you chose for that creation, such as the art style, the baby's gender, the milestone age or the twin type.
Baby profile (optional)
If you enter your baby's name and birth date in the App, they are stored on your device and on our server so the App can personalize your experience. They are not included in the instructions we send to AI models.
App user ID and purchases
The App identifies you with an anonymous app user ID created by our subscription provider, RevenueCat, and stored in your device's keychain. We use it to link your creations, credit balance and subscription to you. When you subscribe, Apple processes the payment; we and RevenueCat receive purchase details such as the product, price, currency or country, transaction ID and subscription dates. We never receive your payment card details.
Notification token
If you allow notifications, the App registers for a push token through Firebase Cloud Messaging and sends it to our server so we can notify you about your creations. You can turn notifications off in the App or in iOS Settings.
Usage and diagnostics
The App uses Google Firebase Analytics to understand how the App is used (for example which screens are opened) and Firebase Crashlytics to receive crash reports that help us fix bugs. This data may include device model, iOS version, app version, general region and identifiers generated by Firebase. We do not use it for advertising and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
Support messages
If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message, and use it only to reply and help you.
2. How AI processing works
To create your images, our server sends your photo(s) to AI models hosted by Replicate, Inc. Your photos are shared with Replicate through temporary, signed links that expire after about 10 minutes, together with a text prompt describing the requested style. Depending on the feature, the models currently used include:
- Google's Nano Banana image model (run on Replicate) for AI Portrait, Future Baby, Twin Baby and Milestones.
- OpenAI's GPT-4o mini vision model (run on Replicate) for Look-Alike, which compares the baby's photo with the parents' photos.
We may change the models we use over time. The generated images are downloaded to our server and shown in your Gallery. We do not use your photos to train our own AI models. Replicate and the model providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not use face recognition to identify anyone; photos are used only to generate the images and results you request.
3. How we use information

4. Who we share information with
We don't sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run BabyCanvas:

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users and others.
These providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. When that happens, we rely on the safeguards the providers offer under applicable law.
5. Retention and deletion
We keep your photos and creations while you use the App so that your Gallery stays available across sessions. You have the following options:
- Delete a single creation: in the Gallery, choose a creation and delete it. It is removed from your Gallery and marked as deleted on our server, and is no longer served to the App.
- Delete Data & History: in the App's Settings, this marks all of your creations as deleted on our server (they are no longer shown or served), clears your baby's name and birth date on your device and on our server, and resets your preferences on the device.
- Full erasure from our servers: deleting in the App hides your creations, but the uploaded photos and generated image files are not automatically erased from our server's storage. BabyCanvas has no accounts, so there is no account to delete. To have all photos, creations, profile details and records linked to your app user ID permanently erased, email [email protected] with the subject "Data deletion" and a description that helps us find your data, such as the approximate dates of your creations. We will complete the request within 30 days.
Deleting the App from your iPhone does not delete data on our servers, and it does not cancel your subscription. Purchase records may be kept as long as required for accounting and legal purposes.
6. Children's privacy
BabyCanvas is made for parents and other adults. It is not directed to children and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Photos of babies and children are provided by the parent or guardian who uses the App, and are used only to create the images that user requests. Please only upload photos of children you are the parent or legal guardian of, or have permission to use. If you believe a child has used the App or that we hold information we shouldn't, contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
Data is sent between the App and our server over encrypted HTTPS connections. Access to your creations requires your app credentials, and photos shared with AI providers use signed links that expire. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
8. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example in the EU, UK or California), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email [email protected]. You can also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
9. This website
This website does not use cookies or analytics. It loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address to deliver them. Our web host may keep standard server logs, such as IP address and pages requested, for security and maintenance.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the effective date. Significant changes may also be announced in the App.
